Winter Hitting Facility Available

Teams that would like to work on their hitting over the winter months are invited to consider an indoor facility located in Tualatin. The space features two batting cages with indoor/outdoor carpeting.

Cost for the facility is $35 per hour if teams bring their own equipment (pitching machine, balls, etc).

Cost for the facility is $40 per hour if team wishes to rent gear as well as the batting cages.

The facility will be available beginning November 1 and is available on a first-come/first-served basis.

Private instruction will also be available, but details are being worked out. Watch this space for updates.

For further information, or to reserve the indoor batting facility, please contact Dennis Muir via email at dmuir@lightworkselectric.com.

Fall Pitching Clinics Set

Intermediate to advanced level pitchers are invited to participate in a series of clinics beginning October 29th. Instruction will be provided by former Notre Dame pitcher Kelly Dulong (see information below). The clinics will run every Monday evening (with the exception of November 26) through December 3. Clinic participation is limited to the first 10 to sign up and the cost is $125 for the 5 sessions. Pitchers should plan to attend every week, as there are no refunds for missed sessions.

Clinics will be held from 6:30 - 8:00 pm in the cafeteria at Bilquist Elementary School, 15708 SE Webster, Milwaukie, OR 97267.

Pitchers should bring a catcher, a couple of "softies," and a non-skid mat and/or duct tape to keep the mat stable. The floor in the cafeteria is tile, and can be slippery.

To register, or for questions, please contact Dale Bottinelli at 503-314-6464.

KELLY DULONG

Q: Where did you go to college?

A: I went to the University of Notre Dame from 1994 - 1998. We were a top 20 ranked team and participated in the NCAA tournament 3 of my 4 years there with our highest finish being 9th. I led the nation in saves 2 of those years and completed my career with as the record holder for most career saves.

Q: What skill/age level are you going to target with the clinic?

I expect most of the students will be 12-16 years old, though there is no age limit that I am aware of. I work with the girls individually and rarely as a group unless several students are working on the same skill. My instruction is tailored to what each student is working on. I do teach all five pitches (fastball, change-up, rise, drop, screw and curve).
